Casas Velhinhas project, was born from the will of a passionate couple to seek home to live and make their nest, when he stumbled into a simple home in the heart of Estremoz. The first visit revealed, for most of the common mortals, quite discourager. It was very dark with a lot of moisture, ground on earth, broken furniture, fallen walls. Even in the face of this scenario the couple thought “this is our future house” and put hands on the work. Much of the recovery was carried out by themselves and the help was always from local professionals. The couple always tried to print in the property their passionate tastes, with decorative lines from the old of our grandparents and the “slow living” simplicity.
In the course of rehabilitation, life took a few turns and the couple decided to direct the little house to the rental to tourists, and it was very rewarding to get to know the so beautiful project that they developed with so much love.
Inspired by the original traits of the house we found in a vacant state, we saw that there was a huge beauty on the walls that constituted it and sought to reclaim all its originality, preserving the traits and the most beautiful features that go back to its ancient construction, about year 1919 .
We sought to create the comfort of a “modern” house coupled with the sensation and the idea of what it would be like to live in the home building year, where the minimalism of the essentials exists and simplicity brings the beauty of the days. In addition to the original traits, the house also has characteristic elements of the region, such as marble stone. That was born the AL “Casas Velhinhas” (Old houses) situated in the heart of the city of Estremoz seeking to offer quality housing, simplicity, peace, and in part a “historical trip” full of meaning.
Accommodation offers a unique experience, with a welcoming and picturesque atmosphere that invites reflection and relaxation, in the world so fast-paced of these times, where it is important to stop and observe the beauty of small things, feel and think without the interference of too many stimuli, which sometimes, in the rush and routine every day, it is not always possible.
